Update

Just an update on the blog yesterday. I can see why diets are hard. I am starting to feel a little better lately and all I want to do it eat, and eat, and eat.

I seems like today I am hungry 24/7. I just had lunch and am starving. I don't know what it is. I did not feel like eating the last couple of days and now I feel like I can't stop.

Please help!!

Why don't diets work

I often ask that question as we as Americans buy into every diet that is out there. I have tried some of these diets with some success but mostly with no success. Why is that?

A lot of diets work immediately and then taper off near the end. A lot of the people who are associated with the different programs often abandon you once they think you are "fixed". WRONG!!

Does anybody know of a program that works. I know the only program that works for me it to be ill. Every time I have a little stomach virus I lose weight. That is the only time. Please somebody show me one that works.

Hang in There

It is sometimes hard not to give up on things. Whether it is your job, your diet, your team, etc... Giving up is sometimes really easy. But you must fight in and continue on. There are so many times when I want to give up and not keep m,oving forward and sometimes I do.

That is taking the easy way out. Keep moving forward, don't give up and you will be rewarded. Moving forward will you achieve all of your goals in life. Just keep going and don't give up. You and me can do it and will succeed.

I am so undecided

Which one will you choose?
I am still on the fence.
Because one has fiber and crunch and nutrients
&
and the other has protein and could be considered fatty, greasy and a heartache waiting  to  happen.  It's just food right, not to everyone. To a food addict who has no restraint the choice is easy and costly.

I am not confident enough to say that if both were in front of me I could make the right choice. I will eat them both and that is no lie.

When do food become the enemy?  When it has done more harm then good?

Diet be gone. This is serious
It must be a way of life.  Everyday ! Every hour ! Every minute !

Fight Back

Temptation is just as bad as the venom of a snake. Once it gets into your system it can take you on a hell of a ride . Is it worth it. No ! We must continue to fight this disease of obesity
we may never win the war, but with our guards up we can continue to fight the battle.

I'm sorry

I am sorry for not talking yesterday. I got caught up in work and was unable to talk. I apologize to everybody for yesterday. I am back today. Yesterday was not a good day for me and food. I had eggs, hashbrowns and sausage for breakfast. Then I had some animal crackers for snack. I had soup for lunch. My afternoon snack was yogurt, pudding and jello. I had cereal for dinner. I feel that is too much to eat. I feel that I am back on track today. I had oatmeal for breakfast. I am having lean pockets for lunch (eventually I like to only be full off of 1 of them, but today I am having both). I will have the same afternoon snack as yesterday and finish that off with a salad for dinner. I am trying to drink tons of water and am getting there. I haven't heard from you in a while and hope to read something soon. Talk to everybody tomorrow.

Thanks for listening!

February 17, 2009

I'm Back

I told you I would say something today. Everything I ate yesterday worked itself out pretty good. It was healthier and kept me full. Today, I have had a little lapse. I did not eat any breakfast today. I know, not good. I have been lagging behind all day. I had a snack around 1030, which was some animal crackers and milk. I have just got done my lunch, which was some soup. I ahve a feeling that I will be hungry in a couple hours again. My goal is to have some yogurt and jello for snack and some cereal for dinner. I also have to start drinking my protein. It has been a couple of weeks and I need it. I am hoping to have a protein shake around 5. I will keep you updated on my progress.

Thanks for listening!

February 16, 2009

Today

Today is a good day. I think I have a meal plan for the week (although you never know when something will happen). I had a nice sandwich for breakfast and a yogurt for a snack. I had Lean Pockets for lunch (which were excellent). I will eat some Jell-O for a snack with a couple animal crackers with some milk as a snack. For dinner, I will eat a salad. I think I am on the right trakc (I hope so). I am hoping to do some sit-ups tonight and really start losing this weight. Are you with me. I know you are. We can do it. I will post another one tomorrow.

February 12, 2009

Together

We can do this together. We can conquer all. No longer will we hide behind the food. I know that we, together, can achieve anything we want. I know we can lose the weight. Right now, I am the heaviest I have ever been. I do not like the person I have become with all this weight gain. For some reason, food has been tasting better and better and that is scary for me. I am trying to keep my emotions in check as I write this, but is hard. I don't want to be this person anymore. I don't want to eat and eat and eat. PLEASE help me. I know we can succeed together and achieve any goal we want. Please take this journey with me. There may be bumps in the road, but there is nobody I rather do it with than you. Please.

Re: Friend or Foe

This morning I have been up since 4am trying to clear my mind and come to grips with this last relapse. I know I should move on and forget the past and stand strong in the present . But I can't there are so many unanswered questions that are hindering me from moving on. Such as why did I relapse, what makes this relapse different.

Personally I believe this time I hurt more than just myself . The disappointment on ppl faces when I told the truth about me recurring addiction, can't be erase from my mind. Food is a very powerful substance if not content or controlled properly and even can become your worst enemy. My heart and my mind are in a serious battle they don't agree on what is good for me but insist on bring my body down to there unhealthy level.

Relapsing for me is like committing food suicide it has deadly consequences. I've been here before emotionally, and mentally and did my sobriety and clean up quick This time it is not that easy the pain in my heart that has recently surface has lead me to rely on my old friend comfort food.

This could be another excuse to continue or the true reasoning for my spiral downfall. For whatever reason or source of the pain I have to nip it in the bud. And then and only then can I regain my dignity because right now I am a food addict exposed .

Defining Moments

Well I am still trying to hang in there and not give up. Today was a tough day for me because I had to share with my peers that I had again gained weight 15lbs to be exact. I was very embarrassed because they looked up to me for guidance and my secrets were front and center I was getting high on my own supply( bad food choices ). However you look at it, I could no longer sugar coat my recent relapse and I could not concern my self with the black lash of the gossip. I must press on and save myself. It became very easy for me to encourage and save someone else but it seems shameful if I even put a little effort into saving myself. But I read something today that was so profound it was talking about Defining Moments and with all the negativity of my recent relapse it gave me a chance to think and remember one of my defining moments in my recovery. I was wearing a 28 size dress and it took 10 long years but the day came in 2008 when I went into the department store and tried on a dress a size 14 and it fit. I cried !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That moment defined who I was a strong beautiful person , that was determined enough to save her own life and live free from a addiction of food and gain control of my obesity. What is your defining moment that will happen or has happen in your recovery ?

Falling

I am trying to get back on the wagon. I will admit, it is hard. I have to do it. I have to. I keep coming up with excuses as why I am off and I am tired of it. I am tired of failing in my quest to lose weight. I just feel myself getting fatter and fatter. I must stop. I need help. Lately, I have been eating everything in sight. I must stop eating. I have a weigh in coming up in two days, from that point on I will succeed. That weight on Wednesday will be my starting weight and I will lose the pounds. I WILL SUCCEED! Please take this journey with me. I NEED HELP. PLEASE.

February 07, 2009

Recovery vs The Fall

Falling off the wagon is so easy to do but so hard to recover from, you feel depleted when you begin to work hard to recover and regain control and the scale is still convinced that you are still cheating with the bad food choices. Recovery leaves a lump in your throat and a bad memories on your mind. Like regretting the fall and coping with the recovery. Its becoming a full time task that I have brought on myself. I must work extra hard to even begin to see change in my attitude in my personality and in my body. My heart wants to stay focus but my mind must be willing also, my personality has lost its shine because of shame. I use to be the hype girl in public, but behind close doors I am a addict who binges days at a time. Last but not last my body feels torn down from the con stance roller coaster ride. I guess some would call it yo yo diet. Well these are my feelings and I am sticking with it. If you decide to cheat by eating pizza, snacks, soda pop, ice cream. Be ready to pay the price at the scale or the tightness in your clothes and I am a witness it is not worth it. Every time you fall off the wagon the recovery gets harder and harder save your self the heartache and the pain.

Stay on track and holla at your girl let me know that I am not alone in this journey.

To be or Not to be Clean that is the Question.

It has been 24 hours since I decided to get back on the wagon. Very tough too because I stepped on the scale and the numbers seem to keep going up. That is a good reason to eat because I feel discouraged, but I would be eating out of emotions not because of hunger.

But in order to feel in type of accomplishments I must see this through and be very happy that I made it through the night.Without falling off the wagon again so soon. Being in this state of confusion wanting to eat and trying to save my life is a struggle the withdraw is painful. In order to come out of this in one piece I had to give me one more chance

I am worth saving and so are you. I survived tonight but my addiction is not cured this is just one night. I have many more to go indeed this is a small step that can lead to another but it is all up to me and your recovery is all up to you. While I am typing this, I am thinking about foods that will soothe me right now that is how bad my addiction is...

Confessions

HELP!!!!!!!!! I need it. Ever since the big party day of the year (super bowl), I can't stop eating. I need to stop. How? How can I stop this eating machine. I am eating lunch now and have been offered a big free soft pretzel (being from Philly, they are really good). How do I not eat it? How can I resist. I know I shouldn't but it is calling my name. I am full now so I will not eat now. But what is stopping me from eating it two hours later. I should throw it out but free is free and I don't want the pretzel to go to waste. What is a person to do?

Re Reality of Confessions

This is a sad reality that we all must face sooner than later and that is the consequences of our actions. Well in my case it would be my overeating and binging. Yes, its been fun and I had a blast and I ate till I busted a couple of buttons on my pants. But the reality is my addiction is not helping me instead everyday I am causing my own destruction. Facing the truth hurts and right now as I sit at my computer realizing that the only person I have hurt is the person that I see everyday in the mirror. I've only hurt myself once again. I have to decide is it better for me and my well being to continue to confess to you my desires and my need to keep up my love affair that I have with food. Or think of meaningful ways to fight back. Yes, I am back on the wagon and I am determine not to give up.But I am still eating late at night and early mornings. So the weight I fought so hard to take off is creeping up on me in a disguise such as a cheeseburger, french fries, coffee cakes, chips, cheese curls, and potato chips and ice cream. Who was I fooling thinking I could still eat that way and still stay my same weight. In one months time I have gain 15 lbs no kidding and it took me one year to keep that same 15lbs off. You be the judge is it worth it! Will I fall again of course! Will I preach this sermon to my self again and again . YES! Do I need the supervision of a pad and a pen to write down everything piece of food I put in my mouth. Absolutely! Will I have to count calories more than likely, and will I have to stand accountable every second, every minute, every hour, every day. YES! It's up to me! If I don't stop I would be responsible for my own suicide (caused by the consumption of fatty foods and greasy build up on the arteries ) the talk at the funeral home will be how did she die the obvious answer would be ( OBESITY ! They would go on to say she always said she wanted to lose weight but her could have, would have , should have came a day to late).
Holla at your girl don't let the ppl speak on your behalf save yourself as I choose to do tonight. Together we will fall and get up and face this addiction together you are not alone.

Big Confession

I have a big confession today. Yesterday I fell completely off the wagon and have not landed yet. I ate and ate and ate. And after that, I ate some more. Yesterday, I was in junk food heaven. I stayed there all day and night. I try not to eat after 8 at night, well yesterday that time was 11. I know it was a food holiday yesterday with the Super Bowl. I should not use that as an excuse. I should have showed some restraint. I didnt. and believe me, I ate. Donuts, pizza, wings, shrimp, cheese puffs, chips, ice cream and more donuts, I couldn't control myself. Today is like a food hangover, I need help. Please, anybody, help me!

Re : These are my Confessions

What's up,

For no reason at all I have been eating enormous amounts of food. More then the usually 2thousand calories. I blamed my eating today on the Superbowl, I thought celebrating before the game came on would be nice.So I made a big pot of chili with sauce and ate it all by myself. What the hell was I thinking? It was good. But after 5 bowls fill to the top I could not stop. Along with 2 big bag of nachos. But now my meal time is over my food is gone and the emotion madness of guilt begins. I don't even understand football, but an addict will use any excuse or reason to use or to eat.
I must have this quote down to a science I will start again on Monday. You may read this and say what the hell is wrong with this girl. Don't she want to stop! Don't she want to lose weight she has gone to far this time. My answer is you're correct and I agree with any comment or statement that advises me to stop. But as an addict, that needs food to survive there is no pill or drug that is going to last as long as life. There are however tricks and treats to fool you into believing there is an answer out there but the answer lies within you. Keep counting my slip ups because as many times as I FALL OFF THE WAGON you better believe the next day I am getting back on. It does not count how many times you fall what matters the most is whet er you get up or stay there. See each time you get up and start over that is a start and each fall after awhile is going to hurt less and less. This is a lifestyle change so there will be disappointment and there will be times you will get discouraged but one day we will beat down this addiction that's keeping us from living a healthy and happy lifestyle. Do I stand alone in this fight or will you fight with me .

Re : Confessions Continue

I got some very upsetting news today and the very first thing that came to my mind was when can I sneak away to eat. I have urges like a junkie and I am a emotional eater, well hell I should just lay it all on the line. I am a food addict with sudden urges to binge till I get sick . I am an emotional eater, happy, sad, glad, when it is all said and done I love food so I just eat for no reason at all. Now back to my upsetting news, have you ever been upset and could not contain your emotions well today was one of those days. I cried in a bathroom for about 15 minutes and after I cried I wanted to eat so I bite my nails down on my fingers till they bleed. Damn sounds like this addiction has me right where I belong in the midst of the morbidly obese. Yes I am confessing daily, hoping that I am also helping somebody it is not easy and the struggle back on the wagon is the hardest ever. I am a witness that it can be done. And a believer that it can be accomplished one second, one minute, one hour at a time.

Confessions of a Food Addict

Hi ,

This is your girl just checking in again.Confessing is good for the soul but bad for the reputation.
I really don't know if I am helping anyone except for myself but what I am sure of is that every day I am in a struggle. You may asked what the heck is my problem or my struggle. You may even think that by now I should have it altogether the in and outs of living a healthy and diet free life. Guess again there is no book, pamphlet or instruction guide to getting over an addicting habit. I start over every minute, every hour, and every day just as confused as the day before. Crying is an option but survival is the key. What makes me eat again and again and again. Will I ever be normal. When will I get tired of being tired. Eating healthy and exec rising for the rest of my life, having portion control and not cleaning my plate and remembering that a third serving means that I have gone to far. How easy it it for someone else to put their fork or spoon down and walk away from the table where there is allot of food. Why in the hell am I having such a hard time with that one thing. Walking away from the table and not consuming massive amounts of food. Can you feel my pain !

Stress is a big deal. It affects everything you do. From your mood, to how much you eat. Stress is a mfer. It is hard not to eat when stressed. What are some ways to cope with it. One way is gum. chewing gums carves your appetite and does not have many calories. although when i am stressed, I rather have a nic big cheesesteak instead of a stick of gum. What about you. What are some better ways to relieve stress than eating or chewing gum. Everybody has stress in thier life. How can we cope?

Confessions of a Food Addict

Do you eat under stress? Is stress a trigger for you, well it is for me. Under stress I fall back under the old patterns of the addiction that I am recovery from. Can I avoid stress or the pressure that comes along with life's daily challenges. No ! Will I ever be stress free or live in a world where there are no worries. No ! What I must learn is to handle my addiction under the pressures of life. Why is food the first thing we rely on and not the last? What is your addiction that continuous hold you back. My addiction is food and I must live every day trying to find the answer because there are no cures. Do I bring on my own pain, do I afflict my self with my own stress. Conducting a self evaluation of myself only further proves that per Dr. Phil you teach people how to treat you. So I encourage stress and worry in my life in order to provoke my need to continue my addiction. I have taught myself that my worth is in a bag of chips, dip or pizza and I am not worth saving , getting healthy or changing the way I am view in society as a obese lazy person. I hold the key to unlocking my own door to my inter prison. Why won't I free myself?

Sorry it has taken so long to write. I too have been eating too much lately. I have try and believe has succeeded in stopping that. 2 of the last 3 days I have eating fat free soup. Mind you, its not pizza, but it will do. It is very tasty, but and worried that it will not fill me. No more binge eating for us. we get on track and stay on track. It sounds alot ealier than doing, but we must start at some point and this is that point. WE WILL SUCCEED!!!!!!!!!!!!

These are my Confessions

Yesterday was a very important day in my life and as always I build myself up to be stress free. Needless to say that did not happen. Which brought back memories of how things use to be and who I could trust and rely on. The answer is always the same and never changing as a addict I went back to the one thing I knew was not going to hurt me, or cause me heartache or pain or make me suffer ( food ). Relying on a person to take my pain away is OVERRATE ! Food on the other hand takes no energy from me, does not drain me, and when everyone around me decide that I am not important enough I grab for the one thing I know will keep me company and soothe me. NO, I never want to be the center of attention. But it seems I never learn my lesson. Someone can hurt me and hurt me and like an addicted I cling to the pain and rely on the food to take it away. Addicts don't think the just do what makes them feel better. Some addicts are different from others and every one has there own reason for there addiction I realized mine yesterday.. NO, it did not take 20 years to find out I already knew but 20 years later it was confirmed once again. Eating massive amounts of food makes me feel better and I eat to relieve stress , heartache and pain. I love hard and suffer long and in between I eat..

Confession

I have an obession with food. I love it. and I am not talking about healthy food. I am talking about fatty food. I love it. Order me a pepperoni pizza and leave me alone for a half an hour. It is an unhealthy obsession, but an obession not the less. I need to carve this obsession out of me. At this moment, I am eating a Subway sandwich. A foot long, not a 6 inch. It has 3 kinds of salty meat and chesses with no veggies. Not even lettice. It is also on italian bread, not whole wheat. That is my obsession. I need to do better. I need to get turkey with cheese on wheat with veggies. What makes me not get this. What makes me crave unhealty food. Can somebody please help me.

My Confession Continues

The last time we left off, I was discussing how I needed more food from the Neighborhood Store. Next thing I knew, I wasn't just having one bag of chips, I was having 2. 2 sodas instead of 1. 2 Big Macs instead of one. I was becoming a big fan of super size. I would double my portion size no matter what I was eating. I was super sizing everything. Then, much to my astonishment, I started tripling what I was eating. I was losing control of myself. I couldn't stop. I was eating too much, and I loved it. My favorite pastime was going to restaurants, especially all-you-can eat buffets. I was in heaven. I knew somewhere deep down I needed to stop, but I couldn't. I didn't want to. I felt that this is who I am and this is my body.

Eventually, the pounds I was gaining was getting excessively higher and higher. Instead of maybe gaining a pound a week, I was doing 2 or 3 a week. My obsession with food was becoming excessive. I was an addict out of control and couldn't stop or understand what I was doing. I had no control over this obsession and it was controlling my life. Instead of being a crack head, I was a Food Head. I was a food junkie always looking for my next score. I can remember going to family functions and pretty much eating everything. I would wait and watch as they would push their plate to the side when they were done and leave the table. I stayed at the table and would eat and eat and eat. I was too busy eating to enjoy their company and if they played games, I was out because I was still at the table, indulging in my obsession.

As my confession rolls on, you will see I had no control over any of this. Like I keep saying, I was an food addict and needed my fix every hour, every minute, every second.

Keep Confessing your Food

Thank you for relaying your confessions. It is hard to relive the past when it comes to food. The only way to move forward is to remember where you came from and where you are going moving forward. It is important that moving forward and you will not be where you were. Even if someone slips here and there, just doing it moderately and you will always bounce back. I am proud of you and where you have come from and where you are going. Every day I see you I become more proud. Through perserverence and hard work you have made it below 200. I know you will not stop until you reach your goal. It is an honor and privilege to move forward with you and live each day with you. There is not a day that goes by that I thank God for having you in my life. You are an inspiration to people everywhere and you are my inspiration. Keep at it and you will succeed.

Confessions of A Food Addict

When did I become an addict? When did I know that this was a disease?
How did I know it was an addiction?
I am now ready to confess. This will help me in my recovery. I wish I could blame this all on my up bringing or say it's my parents fault. It sounds good to blame someone else for my mistakes or my destructive behavior or my fascination with food. I can't narrow this down to a day or an hour that this happen. All I know is the feeling I got when the food touch my lips, went onto my tongue, and down my throat and passed into my stomach.OMG! What a high it was an internal high. I wanted it again and again and again. I've been eating every since, chasing that same high when I ate chicken , pies, cakes, pizza, chips that is just to name a few. I felt a release in my brain of relaxation and contentment and happiness and warmth. That lasted as long as the food lasted and when that food was gone. I became depressed, withdraw and afraid of facing the reality that I was out of control.Eating became my addiction! I ate so I could not feel the pain or the depression that followed. I made excuses for why I binge . The thrill of knowing that I was eating gave me great joy and pleasure. I couldn't stop. Sneaking eating behind cars hiding food in the couch till everyone who was anyone was alsleep lying deceiving others by telling them that I am losing weight or I will get help with my problems. Then sneaking off as soon as I was alone again to get my high on. Bags and bags of chips making trips and trips to the corner store that stayed open just for me. I remember they were closing one night and the guy pulled the gate down. I stood out there and begged him like a fend to open the door. He did but he call me a food junkie as I ran through the store getting my midnight snack chips, ice cream and a drink and two cakes that sometimes held me over till the next morning. From that day on he closed the store after I got my midnight snack. Until even that didn't satisfy me anymore I need and craved more food.Crying out loud but this is my confession.
Do you understand if so email me...

Confessions of a Food Addicted!

    • What was I thinking as the numbers on the scale were raising higher and higher right before my eyes. I felt the difference in my clothes and in my appearance. My
recent fall off the wagon affected my progress completely. I continued to eat willing and well aware of my addiction and the consequences which were to follow. It was not in a closet or in a room away from people. I boldly ate like no time before, not ashamed, cocky and even
      confident to some degree.
    • As long as I was not weighing in at 210lbs I was going to be okay. Okay, that's exactly what I thought. But okay to do what, get into my clothes that were starting to fit tighter. Or was I hanging on to the thought that I have beaten this addiction and I still had everything under control. Frightening as it may sound I thought I did .
    • Who can I turn to fight off this vicious disease that has once again over taken me. In the days to come I will confess my weakness and come clean about my addiction to food, as I fight back to regain control once again one minute, one hour, one day at a time.
    • If you have a confession and food happens to be your weakness email me. I never wanted to fight this addiction alone.Together we can fight and gain control.

Never give up or given in!
